Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Party

Oliver has discovered TMNT and was set on having his 6th birthday party revolve
around the Ninja Turtle theme. I tried to talk him into a few other themes but he had his heart
set on the turtles. It was a challenge at first to get my creative juices flowing but it ended up being  a "turtley" awesome, really simple, fun, and pretty inexpensive party.

The Food

We kept the food simple
TMNT Cupcakes, Ooze Juice, and
of course the Ninja Turtle's favorite . . . Pizza!

Games/Activities

The kiddos rolled in toxic slime ( a green towel), jumped up and gave us their
best ninja move and then became of official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. They picked out a turtle shell and the color of Ninja Head Bandana they wanted.

The turtle shells are turkey roasting pans from the dollar store spary painted green and we recycled some t-shirt to make the ninja masks.

Throw the NYC sewer lid into the bucket of toxic ooze

We painted a sandbox turtle like a Ninja Turtle and then put "shredder's" paper inside with hidden treasures for the ninja's to rescue

The Ninja Turtles had to defeat Shredder's white ninjas- inside were prizes

We made toxic ooze/slime. This was really easy- but messy.

Directions
  1. Mix 1/2 cup  glue (about one bottle school glue) with 1/2 cup water. Mix well.
  2. Dissolve 1 tsp borax in 1 cup water. Slowly stir borax solution into glue solution.
  3. Add a few drops of your favorite food coloring color for fun- we found a neon green that was perfect for toxic slime.

Nunchucks out of toilet paper rolls- I almost didn't do this one but it ended up being a lot of the
ninja's favorite activity at the party ( and the easiest/cheapest)
Pin the Mask on The Turtle

Stack the Sewer Lids (oreos)

Goodies to take home
Sword made from paint stir stick
Sewer Lids
and TMNT party toy

  1. OMG Katie. Corbin had SOO much fun at Oliver's party. He still wears his turtle shell around (it has seen better days), and played w/his "slime" or as he called it "silly putty" so much it dried out. He even slept w/it. He still uses his "sword" to play with. Thank you so much for the fantastic ideas. You are an incredible AND amazing mom.

  2. My boys (the big and the little) have decided that's what my son's 4th birthday party theme is going to be. Thank you for all the amazing ideas because I definitely didn't know where to start thankfully I have a few months to work on it.
