My Tiger Lilies

Sometimes the things we take for granted are the things others are praying for.

So thankful for my beautiful daughters, such sweet sisters

Lean Green Wrestling Machine

This little dude was such a blast to watch this wrestling season- what an athlete. He is so small but man is he good. He is a little hurricane on the mat. He was unbeatable the entire season until State, where he took 3rd. At the regional meet he took 2nd. He had no fear on the mat because he is used to "practicing" at home with a 13 year old brother. Way to go little lean, green, wrestling machine.

Look Mom- I can Write My name

The other day Miss Paisley asked me for a piece of paper, something she often does. She said she wanted to practice her name. I figured she was making sweet scribbles.

Upon further observation I found that she was in fact writing a name she had been watching big brother write over and over again . .  ..  Oliver. Yep she had been watching and processing him and sat write down and wrote his name. Little stinker. She was even saying O - L- I- . . .

Guess she's ready to start learning those O's with a tail on them so she can start writing her name  . .

Goodbye Autumn

Autumn is my very favorite season of the year and it never seems to last long enough. The "white stuff" made it's grand entrance on Thursday night. We got 5-6 inches of snow. Conveniently the littles didn't have school on Friday so they were able to play in and out of the snow all day long. I don't like the cold of winter, but I love to watch my littles pure joy as they play in the snow. The neighborhood echoed with giggles, screams of delight and happiness as all the kiddos bundled up and played outside all day Friday.

Thirty-something

I am so grateful my bestest friend was born "thirty-something" years ago. He is such a good man. He is strong and brave. He works so hard to take care of his family. He has a wonderful sense of humor. He is a super-hero daddy.  Chef Boyardee has nothing on this guy. He is spiritual and sensitive. Happy Happy Birthday my sweetheart, I love you.

ps I think this cake could have caught the house on fire- look at that flame of fire from all those candles!

Indivisible

This morning I woke up feeling so blessed to live in a nation, where we the people have the freedom, right, privilege, and honor to vote. There are so many men and women who have risked and have sacrificed their lives for us to have this freedom. By not voting, it would be like throwing this blessing away. I am thankful to live in a country that is governed by the leader the people choose, even if the winner is not always my choice.

One Nation, Under God, Indivisible, and Justice For All.

Although we may not always agree with who is re-elected for office, I think it is important for us to support our leaders if we want to be a country that is united. We can spend our moments complaining and finding faults with the system and who won, but it is time wasted in vein.  Time could truly be better spent on our knees praying to our Father in Heaven for the leaders of our country, that this  land of promise will prosper again. Pray that our leaders will be guided like the great founding fathers of our country, like George Washington
.
When Stephen Douglas lost to Abraham Lincoln he said (and I echo his voice) "Partisan feeling must yield to patriotism. I am with you Mr President, and God bless you."
